About the Expo
The Green Energy Expo being organized jointly by Media Day Marketing and KRESMA which is the only Renewable Energy association in Karnataka to be recognized by MNRE will be acting as a one stop platform for the stake holders in the Renewable Energy sector such as Manufactures, developers, Technology Providers.
The Event is being organized in Karnataka where the share of Renewable Energy in meeting the power supply demand of the state is the largest in India. About 50% of the power demand in the state is met through Renewable Energy . Along with this , The Distribution companies in Karnataka stand among the largest players in the Green Term Ahead Market at the Indian Energy Exchange. Thus The Green Energy Expo in Bangalore stands as a good market for the companies engaged in the Renewable Energy sector to show case their products and services and increase their market promotion.
Overview: Renewable Energy Sector in India
India is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets for renewable energy. The government has made renewable energy a cornerstone of its energy policy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, improve energy security, and meet international climate commitments
- India is the 3rd largest energy consumer globally and is expected to double its energy demand by 2040.
- The RE sector offers investment opportunities worth over $200 billion.
- India pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2070.
- The country aims to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.
- 50% of energy from renewables by 2030, Reduction of carbon intensity by 45%.

Policies and initiatives boosting the Renewable Energy Sector
- National Solar Mission (NSM) – Launched in 2010, aims to deploy 100 GW solar capacity.
- Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) – Supports clean mobility.
- Green Energy Corridors – To strengthen transmission infrastructure for RE integration.
- PM-KUSUM Scheme – Promotes solar energy for agriculture (solar pumps, etc.)
- Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) – Boosts domestic solar module manufacturing.
50% of energy from renewables by 2030, Reduction of carbon intensity by 45%.
Karnataka stands as a leader in India’s renewable energy sector, leveraging its abundant solar and wind resources to drive sustainable development.
- Karnataka has an installed renewable energy capacity of approximately 22 GW
- 1,316 MW of renewable energy capacity addition in the first quarter of 2025.
- Targets to achieve 10 GW RE Capacity by 2027 including 1GW from roof top Instillations
- The state targets to reach 38 GW by 2035.
- Renewables constitute nearly 68% of Karnataka's total energy mix
- Pavagada Solar Park, also known as Shakti Sthala with an installed capacity of 2,050 MW, is one of the largest photovoltaic solar parks globally.
- Karnataka Open Access Regulations 2025 to streamline renewable energy integration gives a push to this sector
